Goodman is continuing to rehabilitate the former Stora Enso industrial site in Brebières, Pas-de-Calais, with the development of two new independent logistics platforms, providing a surface area of 37,000 sqm and 57,000 sqm respectively.

The rehabilitation of the Stora Enso brownfield site is continuing. Having built a 70,000 sqm logistics platform on the former timber yard in 2021, Goodman is launching the sales programmes for two new independent buildings of 37,000 sqm and 57,000sqm. These two new developments will benefit from an exceptional geographical location in the heart of the dynamic Osartis-Marquion municipal area, just 40km south of Lille.

They reflect the attractiveness of our region, the quality of its training programmes and the active efforts of all the players involved to help provide jobs and a bright future for the local community.”

The two class-A platforms are aiming to obtain the BREEAM "Very Good" environmental rating, and will be developed on the site of the former printing works, which will be demolished and rehabilitated in line with the responsible circular-economy approach adopted by Goodman, promoting the on-site reuse and recycling of materials resulting from the dismantling operations. In order to promote the use of renewable energies, both buildings will be equipped with solar panels (covering 12,000 sqm and 18,000 sqm, and generating 1MWp and 1.5MWp respectively) providing electricity for the plant’s own consumption and for powering charging stations for electric vehicles.

The logistics sector in the Hauts-de-France region is extremely dynamic. In fact, over the past 20 years, the level of activity has never been so high and this reinforces the attractiveness of the projects. At the same time, the developments avoid building on new land, without compromising their functional aspects" explains Philippe Arfi, Director of Goodman France.

The site in Brebières has an industrial heritage dating back over 100 years, notably with the sugar-production group Béghin-Say and the paper manufacturer Stora Enso. Through the development of these new projects, Goodman is giving a third life to this century-old site.
