Carrefour and Goodman continue their collaboration

Thursday, 02 February 2017

Carrefour and Goodman Group, a global owner, developer and manager of industrial real estate, continue their projects. In 2016, two logistics plaforms have been delivered and two new developments have been launched. By mid-2017, Goodman will have developed more than 250,000 sqm of logistics space in France for the leading retailer.

This collaboration accelerated in 2016:

  • In January 2016, Goodman completed the first 25,000 sqm of a new 55,000 sqm logistics centre at Vendin-le-Vieil in the Hauts de France region. The construction of the second phase, an adjacent 30,000 sqm building, began in July 2016.
  • In September 2016, Goodman provided a 22,000 sqm warehouse at Brie-Comte-Robert in the Seine et Marne region.
  • In the same month, work began on an 81,000 sqm warehouse at Allonnes, near Le Mans in the Sarthe department, which is due to be completed in mid-2017.

“We have been supporting the implementation of Carrefour’s logistics development in France, which is a source of pride to us, and which also challenges us daily. For five years we have continually looked for new ways in which we can achieve the best operational efficiency, for the benefit of Carrefour,” commented Philippe Arfi, Goodman Country Director for France. “Our expertise, combined with our ability to work so closely with our customer, local authorities and partners alike, has enabled us to deliver to the high standards that Carrefour expects.”

Goodman has developed over 250,000 sqm on behalf of Carrefour

The developments, totalling over 250,000 sqm over five years, are part of a programme to simplify and modernise Carrefour’s supply chain. The aim is to provide the best possible working conditions and to supply the brand’s different types of stores, while reducing transport costs and limiting the impact on the environment.

“The continued success of the relationship between Carrefour and Goodman can be attributed to two factors. The first is Goodman’s extensive experience in developing and managing industrial real estate in the retail and e-commerce sectors. The second is Goodman’s flexibility with regard to Carrefour’s numerous working models and the company’s constant search for solutions that develop and improve our systems,” stated Rémi Goléger, Real Estate Supply Chain Director at Carrefour.
