Log-S, a market leader in the provision of logistical solutions for the retail industry, required a new, more modern logistics centre in order to expand its business and meet growing demand in its sector.
The new property was especially designed to accommodate the entire range of products of Electro Dépôt, a supplier of household electrical items and a customer with which Log-S has been able to sign an agreement thanks to the additional storage height and competitive pricing it enjoys at the new location.
The advanced facility has enabled Log-S to significantly increase its overall logistics capacity in the Douai region. The optimised storage space allows it to continue to meet growing demand from the e-commerce sector and reinforces the company’s position as a market leader and expert in handling goods for retail and e-commerce channels.
With the site managed by Goodman’s in-house property services specialists, Log-S is able to concentrate fully on further growing its business.
Log-S, a market leader in the provision of logistical solutions for the retail industry, required a new, more modern logistics centre in order to expand its business and meet growing demand in its sector. Well established in France’s Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, the company also needed the development to be completed as quickly as possible to ensure his client a seamless continuation of its operations.
"The speed of development, with delivery in the second quarter of 2014, was of particular importance to us and Goodman was able to meet our specific requirements. " Franck Grimonprez, President, Log-S
Log-S requirements for the new development:
With land already secured in our well-placed Lille-Douai Logistics Centre, in the north of France, we were able to deliver a 30,000 sqm built-to-suit Class A warehouse that fully meets Log’s specific requirements, in just eight months.
Located about 30 km from the company’s administrative offices, the new storage space represents an optimal solution for Log-S. The facility comprises 28,938 sqm of warehouse space, as well as 446 sqm of offices and 642 sqm of additional space, all of which meet required European standards. The bespoke design includes 12 m in loading height - a vast improvement on the company’s previous premises -, as well as auto docks and electric dock doors.
Goodman owns 46 ha of land at the location, 90,000 sqm of which has already been developed and is leased by a global leader in e-commerce. There is ample room for Log-S to physically extend its agreement and the company has taken an option for an additional 6,000 sqm for future development.
All required permits for the site and authorisation for the project had already been granted, enabling building to start immediately. As a result, we were able to complete the project in just eight months and offer a competitive price, meeting our commitment to Log-S. Goodman enjoys a close and cooperative relationship with local authorities that fully support the economic development of the area.
