Off the back of continuing e-commerce growth, GEODIS, a global leader in the transport and logistics sector is working with Goodman for the first time in France. GEODIS recently signed a lease agreement for a 30,000m² logistics platform situated in the largest logistics zone in Europe, in L'Isle d'Abeau, to the south-east of Lyon.

This A-class site benefits from direct access to the A43 motorway and is close to Lyon's eastern ring road, which connects with the A6 and A7 motorways. It also places GEODIS within 30 minutes reach of a population and consumer pool of more than 1.1 million people.

With e-commerce sales in France expected to grow from €58 billion in 2021 to €84.5 billion in 2026 , GEODIS is expanding it footprint in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. « This building is ideally positioned to enable us to support our clients' growth » says Frédéric Pasqual, GEODIS Managing Director of Contract Logistics for France and North Africa.« We are extremely happy to be working with Goodman for the first time in France, as the company is widely acknowledged for its professionalism and the quality of its logistics platforms. »

GEODIS is already a Goodman customer in The Netherlands and Aurélien Noël, Head of Portfolio Management for Goodman France, believes this is the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership with GEODIS in France.

« End consumers want products faster than ever before » , said Aurélien Noël.  « Therefore, having a strategic location close to consumers, with excellent transport infrastructure is key to any successful logistics company. But it’s not just the location that counts. GEODIS appreciate the intrinsic qualities of the building as well as the services provided by our management teams and we are delighted to count GEODIS among our clients. »

GEODIS was advised in this transaction by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
